About us

My dog story starts from 1989, when I got my first dog.
I was 15 years old and I finally got a dog that I had dreamed of for many years.
It was a bitch of a small silver-coloured poodle, her name was Hilda. She lived with us for 14 years…

The first whippet appeared in our family in 2003.
A year before this event, I saw a photo in a magazine, it showed a very elegant dog with beautiful expressive eyes… and a year later, “Caesar” appeared.
He came from the Lithuanian kennel “Romantika”.
I began participating at the dog shows with great enthusiasm, but after while I realised that not all dogs are suitable for dog shows…
Anyway, our Caesar is our Whippet number one!
He had such an amazing character that the appearance of a second dog was no longer discussed. That’s how our “Lana” appeared.

Dogs have opened up a whole world for my husband and me!
We didn’t even know before that there are such beautiful forests and fields near the house and how great it is to go there for a walk with dogs.

In the spring of 2007, a beautiful dark brindle bitch “Carmen” came to us from Norway from the Xploring kennel.
It was other type, other energy, other all. Today, Carmen is no longer with us, but she was and remains my husband’s favourite dog.

In February 2006, at one of the dog show in Latvia, we saw a beautiful male from Norway, who then won the best male,
this dog moved so well that it immediately attracted the eye. And at the end of 2007, we went to mating with Lana to him.
It was Suna Regens Blossoms Keyzer. We kept two bitches from this litter: Beauty and Sandy. Both of them left only one litter each.
Males of Scandinavian origin were also used for these girls.
Beauty and Sandy were quite successful in the show rings, both in the Baltic States and abroad.
For example, these bitches were the first whippets from the Baltic States to win the title of “Champion of Finland”, which we were very proud of. 🙂
Our arsenal also includes Champions of Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Vice Champion of Europe 2010 (for Beauty), Junior World Winner 2013 (for Beauty’s son Rubin)

At that time, whippets were a fairly small breed in Latvia, then people simply did not know how beautiful these dogs were.
Now this breed is gaining popularity more and more.
Whippets are how gentle, sensitive and understanding creatures that instantly read all your emotions;
swift in running and at the same time quite obedient and manageable.
And of course, in my opinion, these are infinitely beautiful, elegant dogs.

In 2009 we registered our kennel “LANCAR DREAM” (LANCAR – from call names of our two first bitches Lana and Carmen) FCI Nr. – 9/09.
I have 17 litters to my credit from 2007, I usually have one litter a year or a year and a half in order to be able to devote myself 100% to it.

Dogs play a very important role in our lives. They are full members of our family.
I wouldn’t want to live a single day of my life without a Whippet at home.
